The quick answer

Crypto is money that lives only on computers. AI can explain each coin in simple words and help you compare them. AI can't tell you which one will go up. Nobody can.

Our focus 5: what each one is built for

We picked these five to explain. Each card says what the coin was designed to do, plus its risks. Education only. Not financial advice. Being featured here isn't a recommendation to buy, and nobody knows which coin will do well.

XRP (XRP) · #5

What it's built for: Sending money between countries fast. The XRP Ledger settles payments in about 3 to 5 seconds, for a tiny fee.

Why that use matters: Sending money between countries through banks can take days and cost fees. XRP was designed to move value between currencies quickly.

Watch out: A large share of XRP is held by Ripple, the company tied to its creation, much of it locked in escrow that releases on a schedule. Price can swing a lot.

Copy-and-paste prompt

Explain like I'm 6 how XRP is meant to help send money to another country. What problems does it try to fix, and what are 2 risks?

Source: XRPL.org: About; XRPL.org: What is XRP?. Rank #5 on CoinGecko, Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT. Official site: https://xrpl.org/

Bitcoin (BTC) · #1

What it's built for: Being digital money that no bank or company runs, with a fixed limit: there will only ever be 21 million bitcoin.

Why that use matters: It was designed as digital cash that no bank runs. Its supply is capped at 21 million, and some people call it “digital gold.”

Watch out: Its price can drop a lot, fast. If you lose your keys (passwords), your coins can be gone for good.

Copy-and-paste prompt

Explain like I'm 6 why Bitcoin has a 21 million limit and what 'store of value' means. Give me 2 risks.

Solana (SOL) · #7

What it's built for: Running apps on a fast, low-cost blockchain. SOL pays the small fees.

Why that use matters: Solana was designed to handle many transactions per second at low cost, so apps like games, payments and markets can run on it.

Watch out: It has had several outages or major slowdowns, including Feb 25 to 26, 2023 and Feb 6, 2024 (about five hours, per Solana's report). Price swings a lot.

Copy-and-paste prompt

Explain like I'm 6 what a blockchain 'app platform' is, using Solana as the example. What are its trade-offs?

Source: Solana outage reports: Sept 2021, Apr 2022, Feb 2023, Feb 2024; Solana.com (low costs, high speeds). Rank #7 on CoinGecko, Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT. Official site: https://solana.com/

Stellar (XLM) · #20

What it's built for: Low-cost payments and remittances (money people send home). The basic network fee is tiny: 100 stroops, which is 0.00001 XLM.

Why that use matters: Stellar was designed for payments and remittances, with very small fees. The Stellar Development Foundation, a nonprofit, supports the network.

Watch out: Price swings a lot. Each Stellar account must keep a small minimum balance (currently 1 XLM). It depends on partner companies (called anchors) to move money in and out of regular currency.

Copy-and-paste prompt

Explain like I'm 6 what a remittance is and how Stellar tries to make it cheaper. What is an 'anchor'?

Source: Stellar.org (cross-border payments, remittances); Stellar Development Foundation; Stellar docs: Fees; Stellar docs: Lumens (minimum balance). Rank #20 on CoinGecko, Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT. Official site: https://stellar.org/

Hedera (HBAR) · #32

What it's built for: Business (enterprise) use. Hedera is governed by the Hedera Council, a group of large companies, web3 firms and universities with equal votes and term limits.

Why that use matters: Hedera was designed with a known group of operators and set rules for business use. HBAR pays network fees, which are small and set in U.S. dollars (for example, a basic transfer is listed at $0.0001).

Watch out: Control sits with a smaller council, not an open crowd like Bitcoin miners. Price swings a lot.

Copy-and-paste prompt

Explain like I'm 6 what the Hedera Council does and why a business might want a network run that way. What are the trade-offs?

Source: Hedera: Council; Hedera docs: Fees. Rank #32 on CoinGecko, Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT. Official site: https://hedera.com/

2. More coins: CoinGecko top 12, plus Cardano and Ondo

Selected coins from CoinGecko's top 12 by market cap (as of Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT), plus Hyperliquid (#11), Cardano (#18) and Ondo (#49), checked Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT. Each card shows the coin's real rank, even outside the top 10. Rankings change often. (Source: CoinGecko.) Market cap means price times the coins out there. Big does not mean safe. This is not a list to buy from.

Not shown, to keep it simple: #9 Figure Heloc, a token CoinGecko lists as tied to home-equity line of credit (HELOC) loans from the company Figure; and #10 Zcash (ZEC), a coin that offers optional private (shielded) transactions (CoinGecko: Zcash).

What it does: TRON is widely used to send stablecoins like USDT, often with low fees. TRX pays its fees.

Good: Every order and trade happens in the open on the chain, where anyone can see it.

Watch out: Perpetual futures are risky, often using borrowed money (leverage). HYPE launched in late 2024 (Nov 29, 2024), so it has a shorter track record than older coins. Price swings a lot.

Source: Hyperliquid Docs: What is Hyperliquid?; Hyper Foundation: HYPE Genesis · Rank #11 on CoinGecko, Oct 24, 2026, 1:56 AM CT

Good: People can send ADA anywhere, and apps can be built on Cardano.

Watch out: Price swings a lot. Cardano has fewer DeFi apps and less money locked in them than Ethereum or Solana (DefiLlama, Oct 24, 2026: about 87 apps vs. 462 on Solana and 1,887 on Ethereum).
